International Health Convention 2025 Havana Cuba

“Health For All”

Under the motto Universal Health, based on the paradigm “ONE HEALTH,” the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba celebrated the V International Convention “Cuba Salud 2025,” from April 21 to 25, 2025, at the Convention Palace in Havana.  

“Cuba Salud 2025” is the major event of Cuban public health, sponsored by prestigious national and international organizations, and its main purposes include discussing public health management models at global, regional, and local levels, strengthening health systems in the post-Covid-19 stage, and public policies centered on health, with an emphasis on adopting policies that contribute to consolidating the paradigm of:  The convention will serve as a scientific and academic framework to exchange views on the most relevant topics of the Health Agenda leading up to 2030.

The experiences of participants from countries across all continents, as well as leaders and health experts, contribute to the search for consensus as a means to strengthen access and equity in health. Similarly, represents a favorable space for the establishment of agreements, the signing of collaboration agreements, and the adoption of strategic declarations on the main topics of debate. 

Our director professor Stephen Lye, PhD – Senior Investigator & Executive Director, Alliance for Human Development and Dr. Yeneir Vera- Senior Research Associate of our institute attended to the international convention representing the Alliance for Human Development. Dr. Stephen Lye delivered a lecture:

"The Developmental Origins of Health and Disease: Science Informing Health Policies"

Dr. Yeneir Vera delivered a lecture about Cuban scientific Collaborations with other countries, specifically Canada, and how different national and international institutions could support more their scientific work in Cuba and how to facilitate the international scientific cooperation with other countries.
